All teams have now seen action at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020. Here is our brief recap of matches on day two of the group stage.

Singapore, Malaysia jump to solo first

Host country Singapore defeated the Philippines, 2-1, to propel themselves to first place of Group A.

Hariss Harun and Faris Ramli scored two minutes off each other midway the second half, taking advantage of the Philippines’ momentary lapse in the match.

Meanwhile, Amin Nazari scored in his inaugural appearance in the tournament, heading in a corner at the 69th minute, with the Azkals trying to will themselves back into contention.

The Lions are immaculate in two matches for six points.

On Group B, Malaysia held down Laos, 4-0.

Safawi Rasid completed a hat trick, with Shahrul Saad scoring the other goal.

The two teams are in opposite ends of the table with Malaysia at first with six points and Laos in last place.

Myanmar, Indonesia taste first win

Myanmar proved that they deserved their Pot 2 seeding after beating Timor-Leste, 2-0.

Than Paing found the back of the net at the 14th minute, while Maun Maung Lwin had his at the 50th minute.

The Timorese are still in search of their first points after incurring their second defeat.

Finally, Indonesia had an entertaining debut, enduring Cambodia in a 4-2 goal spree.

Rachmat Irianto led the way for the Garuda with a brace. Evan Dimas and Ramai Rumakiek were the other goalscorers.

Yue Safy and Prak Mony Udom tallied a goal each for Cambodia.

The Angkor Warriors are tied at the bottom with Laos.
