Chelsea have opened ‘official talks’ with Sevilla over a deal for highly-rated defender Jules Kounde.
Thomas Tuchel is keen to strengthen his squad with the signing of a new centre-back and discussions are underway over a deal for Jules Kounde, who has established himself as one of the best young defenders in Europe since signing for Sevilla from Bordeaux.
Chelsea have so far been quiet in the transfer market but could now begin their summer business with a move for the France international, who formed part of Les Bleus squad at Euro 2020.
Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed ‘official talks’ between the two clubs have began, with Kounde keen on a move to Stamford Bridge as he looks to continue playing Champions League football.
Two clubs are now on negotiation over Kounde’s possible move to the Bridge. The French defender himself opens to a move as he desires Champions League football.

Kounde signed for Sevilla two seasons ago in a deal worth €25m and has since made 88 appearances in all competitions, with reports having suggested the Spanish side will seek a bid of around £60m for the defender.
