According to the Mirror, the deal Pogba has refused at Old Trafford is worth an improved £350,000-a-week and the Red Devils are not prepared to allow the midfielder to leave as a free agent in 2022.

United, however, will hold out for a fee of £50m for the club record signing, who has made 199 appearances across all competitions since arriving from Juventus in a then world record deal in 2016.

Pogba’s potential exit would represent a significant blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of the new season, though the fee received could raise vital funds for a replacement, as well as for pursuits of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and England international Kieran Trippier.
